Born to Teach


Are you interested in training to become a primary school teacher?

Have you considered school-based training?


We have vacancies now to start training in September 2019 and we would be very interested to hear from you if you are thinking of becoming a teacher, or know someone who is. We are looking for people who have (or will have) a degree, have a passion for teaching and want to make a difference to the lives of the children of Chorley.

To help you if you’re interested we are having two Open Events:

Thursday 7th February at 6.00pm

Thursday 28th February at 6.00pm


The events will take place at;

St George’s CE Primary School, Carr Lane, Chorley, Lancs PR7 3JU.

Following a successful bid by St George’s CE Primary School to become a Teaching School, the Yarrow Teaching School Alliance (YTSA) was established in early 2014. 

The Alliance, led by St George’s CE Primary, the Teaching School, is made up of a number of schools across the Chorley area and includes primary schools, special schools and high schools.

The Alliance is committed to and actively involved in ITT, School to School Support, Continuous Professional Development and Research and Development.
